Tamara Tew is a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, who works full time in private practice at Aris Clinic.
As a Certified Nurse Practitioner, she has full prescribing privileges and works independently providing diagnostic assessments, education, referrals, and medication management. Tamara currently sees patients aged 5 through 18.
Tamara graduated from the College of Saint Catherine in St. Paul, MN with her Bachelors of Science in Nursing. She worked at St. Joseph’s Hospital on the chemical dependency and psychiatric units for seven years. She then earned her Masters of Science in Nursing at the College of Saint Scholastica in Duluth, MN with a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner focus. She previously worked at Nystrom & Associates in Woodbury, MN providing medication management to children and adolescents.
Tamara has a special interest in working with children who struggle with ADHD, anxiety/OCD, depression, oppositional behaviors, co-morbid genetic disorders, special needs, and/or autism. She encourages the whole family to seek mental health treatment and strives for family balance. Goals can be met through different tools, such as: family therapy, individual therapy, skills work, IEP support, support groups, education, day treatment, and/or medication management.
When Tamara is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, four children, and two dogs. She likes to read, play softball, and vacation in places near the ocean.
